King of Diamonds: An Interview with Rupa Jha – King of diamonds (2011) is the most popular documentary about the diamond industry.
Rupaa Jha is the author of the award-winning book, The King of diamond: An interview with the world’s most famous diamond trader, the Queen of Diamond.
In this interview, Rupas mother, Ravi, shares the details of her son, who is the youngest ever recipient of a Royal Diamond Jubilee Award, as well as the challenges of being a Diamond Jubilee.
Rupa has lived her entire life as a diamond trader and, like most, she is passionate about the industry.RUPA: I’m a big fan of diamonds.
I started trading as a young girl, so I had a lot of experience, and it was only in the last couple of years that I was able to really understand how the industry works.
As an older person, I’ve had more experience.
In terms of my family, I don’t know how they get along.
When I was a child, I had my parents working in the industry, and my mother was a trader, and I knew everything about diamonds, but I didn’t know anything about the process.
I didn?t understand the industry and my parents were so supportive.
When my father retired, my mother went to work for the company and I started to work with them, and we developed a strong relationship.
It wasn?t until I started working for them in my twenties that I realized how important it is.
I remember when I started out with them and my father, I was the youngest person in my family and they knew all the family?s secrets.
And I?m just so grateful for them, because I?ve been able to help my parents and my siblings through it.
RUPA JHA: I started when I was 17, and then my father came back from his retirement and I was 18.
I was just living in a house and they?re in their 80s.
They were really happy with the house and everything.
I came into the world at 19, and so was my mother.
I met my husband, Ritu, when I came out of college.
My father was a very, very successful diamond trader.
RITU JHA (grandmother): When I first met Rup, she was working as a trader in the company, and she was very passionate about diamonds.
She was very much into diamonds and was very excited about them.
And she wanted to be a trader.
I just felt like that?s my career.
RUPA JHA?: I had never met her before and I asked my father if he wanted to have dinner with her.
He was like, “Well, if you have to go, we can have dinner.”
And I thought, Oh, this is great, and you?re the only one who can come.
RUBY (granddaughter): I knew her and she used to be my friend.
I used to call her Rupka.
RUKI: Rupah started her career at the age of 17.
RUSH (grandson): I was born in 1952, so my parents?s the oldest, so they were working in a factory when I first saw Rup.
My dad?s not a diamond dealer, he is a diamond analyst.
He had worked in the mines for 20 years.
I?d met him at the time when I went to the mines.
RUS: Ruppa?s grandfather was a diamond engineer.
RUSS: I was 11 years old and my grandfather came to our house and he saw Ruppy?s little brother, Ruppi, and Rupp?s sister, Rappa, and he took them to visit their grandmother, and they said, “This is the greatest day of your life.”
So my grandfather, when he saw the three of them, he started to cry.
RUTA: My mother was not a great diamond trader in her lifetime.
RUMBHA (niece): When my mother started working in her early 20s, she came from a family that was not very well off, so she couldn?t even afford to have a car.
And my dad?
s a miner, so when my mother came to work at the mines, she worked for five years and then she retired and started working as an analyst.
RUTH (nurse): My grandfather was very involved in the diamond business.
He started out as a salesman and then, he had his own company and he sold it to his brothers and sisters.
I guess when my grandfather died in 1984, my mom went to live with him in London, and there?s a photo of her with him on the wall.
RANJAS (grandchildren): Ruppas sister and Rupamas brother are very close to each other, so Rupps
