Why Jared Diamond will be ‘the last person to do it’

Diamond is a man who’s done it before.

He has worked on a handful of other projects in Hollywood, from the Steven Spielberg-directed Jaws and the Oscar-winning 2001: A Space Odyssey to the Oscar winner Spotlight and the upcoming thriller The Hateful Eight.

But none of those movies have been nominated for an Oscar.

In fact, the only two films that Diamond has been nominated in for an Academy Award are Jaws (for Best Director) and The Haughty Eight (for best picture).

And while his other films like Lost Highway and The Piano Guys have received multiple nods, those films were made by other people and don’t get the same level of recognition that this one does.

And it’s only now that the studio has decided to make a stab at making the movie happen.
